DMARS History
DMARS S.A.S, with over 13 years of experience, is dedicated to diagnosing and providing solutions to clients in the Maritime, River, and Related Industries, supported by an integrated management system, with the purpose of satisfying client needs, caring for the environment, and ensuring the safety of all its workers. The company is a Simplified Stock Corporation type, it was founded on November 20, 2010, in the city of CARTAGENA DE INDIAS. Our headquarters is located in the EL BOSQUE neighborhood, NUEVA GRANADA STREET # 21 A-71 in CARTAGENA.
In May 2022, thanks to our efforts, our Shipyard in Pasacaballos began operations, where projects for important companies in the country have been carried out.
We hold a River Shipyard License from the Ministry of Transport and a Commercial Operation License as a Naval Repair Workshop from the Colombian Maritime Authority.
With the Distribution of Thordon Bearings for Colombia since 2014, Important Projects have been developed in the Maritime – River and Industrial Sector; in the latter especially with Hydro and Thermoelectric plants.
DMARS Founder
Founder and Managing Partner of DMARS S.A.S, Jorge Luis Vélez Ballesteros; Navy Captain and Naval Engineer, with 40 years of professional experience, of which 30 were in service of the National Navy.
- Director of COTECMAR Bocagrande Shipyard from December 2003 to April 2005
- Director of COTECMAR Mamonal Shipyard in two periods from April 2005 to December 2007 and from April 2008 to January 2010
- Project Manager for the modernization of oceanographic vessels ARC Malpelo and ARC Providencia DIMAR, Design and construction of Rio Esmeralda dredger
